Riley and Abigail – controlled and thoughtful in competition

Hastings Kickboxing Academy attended a light contact show at TKO last weekend writes Carl Denne

Although we have a big team we could only match Riley Davis and Abigail Jordan. ‘Super’ Riley was up first and was awesome. He was controlled, listened and gave a perfect little performance wining not just his second fight but HKA fighter of the year 2018.

Next up was Abi in her first ever bout. The girl she was fighting (Mollie) had already had a hard match early on and didn’t really want to fight again but she was slowly and gently coached back into the ring. No-one really learns if they are scared or take a beating, so we started off really light letting her fight so we could get a few rounds in and in the process giving away he first round. Stepping it up in the second for a draw and winning the last round, finishing off with a draw overall.

I’m extremely proud of these two; they were controlled, kind and thoughtful to other fighters. They both showed some great technique and listened to all the instructions coming from their coaches and pulled them off to a ‘T’, they were an instructors dream!
