Donation centre working flat out as hospice shops reopen

The amazing response to the reopening of St Michael’s Hospice donation centre means that drop-off appointments are fully booked through until September.

A spokesman for the hospice told Hastings In Focus: “We’re delighted with the amazing support from the local community since the reopening of the donation centre and the launch of our new donation centre booking line. The donation centre on Queensway is open to receive donations of good quality pre-loved items, by appointment only and appointments for donation drop-offs are now fully booked until mid-September.”

If anyone would like to make an appointment for late September onwards then call 01424 728728 from Monday to Friday, 10am to 1pm and the team will give you guidance on the new donation process.

The team is unable to accept donations without an appointment due to the volume of donations received and the new quarantine measures that are in place. To ensure hospice employees, volunteers and local community are kept safe the hospice shops are not receiving donations at the moment.

Four of the St Michael’s Hospice charity shops have also reopened, Battle, Hastings and the two shops in Bexhill. All shoppers are asked to wear a face covering and adhere to the shop guidelines which are displayed in the shop window. To check the current opening hours visit click here.
