He’s only just 16 but Billy Joe Fitzgerald is already marking his mark in the world of full contact kickboxing.

His opponent was Jack Johnson from TKO and both fighters were ready for war and from the opening bell both men went toe to toe.

Billy Joe – ready for action!

Billy Joe slowly managed to find his range and started to land some powerful and damaging shots during round one. Round two started the the same way with Billy Joe in control and able to land more shots and combinations, this time making them count.

The end came as Billy Joe landed a perfectly timed right hand to Jack’s chin, forcing him to the canvas. Halfway through the count the referee called the fight off as it was clear that Jack was not able to continue with the bout.

Chief instructor Carl Denne said after the fight: “Billy Joe is a credit to HKA, he cycles to the gym rain or shine, trains hard and gives our adults a run for their money, and never complains. That’s two bouts, two wins and both by knock out! It really doesn’t get better than that.

“I love that we have so many members of all ages and all abilities in our in the gym; from three year olds who are just finding their feet, balance and about the basics of martial arts all the way to the competition side and out fight team who are winning in the most emphatic way.”
