Steady as she goes make-up of new council is much as it was before…

Not a lot has changed on Hastings Borough Council after yesterday’s election.

Labour now has 24 seats, as opposed to 23 on the old authority and the Conservatives have eight seats, the same as they had before. The change is down to Labour winning both seats in Castle ward where retiring councillor Lee Clark had been an independent.

There were two other changes. The Conservatives now hold both seats in west St Leonards, winning one from Labour and Labour now hold both seats in St Helens, taking one from the Conservatives
