Hollington United’s community cafe opens its doors for the first time this weekend
It’s a big day for Hollington United tomorrow and it’s got nothing to do with the performance of the club’s teams on the football pitch.
At 8am tomorrow the club, which prides itself in being at the heart of the community, opens the doors of its community cafe for the first time. The cafe is the result of many months of hard work and has come together as a result of the generosity of several local businesses.

A spokesman for the club said: “Before we take the plunge and open our doors to the public we need to thank a few people and businesses for their help in getting the cafe up and running.
“Ian Shepherd Carpentry for doing the kitchen fitting and interior redecoration.
Dave Hodger of ESK Hastings for supplying various pieces of kitchen essentials.
Tim Martin and Bob Bowles of Martin and Bowles Ltd for their donation of mugs and Peter May of Trade Paints for supplying the decorating materials. Barry Coleman of Coleman Construction and Utilities for did our groundworks and Darren Turner of The Royal Albert donated dinner and side plates. It’s great to see local businesses helping each other out.”

The cafe, in Wishing Tree Road will be offering a selection of breakfasts, lunches and other light snacks together with a varied selection of hot and cold drinks and to kick it all off the club is offering one free breakfast a week for four weeks to the person who wins our free to enter competition.
