Wanted: Home cooks to help supply hot meals to the homeless

Warming up the Homeless, which supports people across Eastbourne, Hastings and Bexhill, is in need of some extra cooks.

The registered charity is looking for people that are willing to regularly supply hot food for its outreach project.

It will supply all the ingredients and disposable containers – and these can be delivered to you if necessary.

All that’s required is a kitchen that is registered with your local authority – but that can be at your home and the charity can help sort the details.

“Warming up the homeless will provide a level 2 food safety training course and allergens awareness course as well as all of the resources in order to comply with food safety standards,” said a spokesperson.

  1. We live in Fairlight. Is that a problem? Is the food collected once cooked or do we take it to a centre?
