Wunderbar! Hastings Oktoberfest 2020 set to go ahead – get your tickets now!

Great news this week for Hastings Oktoberfest fans as organisers confirm the event is set to go ahead at the new venue of Horntye Park Saturday October 3rd from 2-9pm.

In a strange year when the Munich Oktoberfest itself has been cancelled, the staff, entertainers and suppliers of Hastings Oktoberfest really hope that we can party with you.

Russell Nisbet says: “We will miss St Mary in the Castle as it was our home for four years, but we must adapt and we are incredibly excited by the opportunity to offer a more authentic Oktoberfest experience in a large marquee with table service. This will also allow us to use social distancing measures and we will work to the latest recommendations to ensure a safe environment for revellers and staff alike.”

Regulars of the event know to expect a great range of German beers and bratwurst alongside the excellent entertainment from the UK’s leading Oompah party band DDFK and a closing set from the excellent Criminal Records among other surprises and shenanigans.

Thos interested in going can register for tickets on www.hastingsoktoberfest.co.uk. The ticket price is £28 per head, which includes entry and your first one litre stein (two pints) of beer and bratwurst or vegan dog.

Organisers say the increase in cost over previous years is a necessary step to cover the increased costs incurred for marquee and toilet hire, table service and cleaning to name a few of the additional measures they have had to implement: “We hope it’s fair and understandabl,” says Russell..

“We are selling tables in cabaret style and you will be asked to remain at the table as there will not be a dance floor. We are selling Tables of two (limited), four or six. In this first wave of tickets you must confirm that those on your table are from the same household or bubble. These rules may relax in the future but for now we must work to current guidelines

Finally, we must acknowledge that it may be necessary to cancel the event due to a spike in Covid-19, a change in operational restrictions, or low ticket sales. In these circumstances we will be happy to offer a full refund.
