New electric vehicle charging station in Hastings

Hastings has a new rapid electric vehicle charging station at Morrisons in Queens Road.

The charging station has been positioned in the centre of the car park – away from the entrance of the supermarket – and offers residents and visitors to the town two connections; one CCS and one Chademo @50Kw.

The parking for electric vehicles is free for up to 90 minutes with a £1 connection fee and 30p per kw thereafter. The parking spaces are monitored by Euro Car Parks and thre is a fine of £85 for parking there without charging.

Morrisons move comes as campaigners act to see mlre charging points for electric vehicles and hope that other supermarkets in the town will take Morrison’s lead and install chargers in their car parks.
