Churches welcomed back worshippers at weekend

While the focus at the weekend was on the reopening of bars and restaurant local churches and places of worship were also welcoming parishioners back to communal worship.

At Christchurch, Blacklands and St Andrew Rev Charlie Hill says some 20 people signed in for the 9.30am service yesterday.

The church is open daily for private prayer from noon until 3pm, social distancing rules must be observed.

On its website the Church reminds people it is “still alive and active in our parish”.
