Woman robbed as she takes money from cash machine in St Leonards

Three people have been arrested following an ATM theft in Hastings.

Police were called shortly after midnight yesterday (June 23rd) to a report of a 75-year-old woman being robbed of £300 cash by three suspects as she was withdrawing money from an ATM in London Road.

Later at a property in St Leonards a 22-year-old man, a 19-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were arrested on suspicion of robbery and remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Paul Elrick said: “This was an awful attack on a lone elderly woman who has been left shaken but thankfully unharmed. We are keen to establish what happened and are appealing to anyone with information or who saw anything suspicious in the London Road area around the time of this incident to get in touch with us.”
