Man (70) left unconscious after town centre attack – Police need your help

An elderly man was left unconscious with head injuries after a vicious assault in Hastings town centre last Monday (June 1st).

A 19-year-old man from Hastings has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and after being interviewed was released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Now Police have launched an appeal for witnesses as they continue investigating the assault on the 70-year-old local man.

It was at about 10.15pm last Monday that police and ambulance crews were called to Priory Meadow in the town centre after a report of a violent assault that had left the victim unconscious.

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have heard a disturbance in the area around the time.
