The trek of a lifetime across a stunning and diverse landscape – and all for a good cause

Achieve something amazing in 2021 and join St Michael’s Hospice for the challenge of your life by taking part in a trek to Petra in Jordan’s southwestern desert..

Trekking more than 69 kilometres over five days those taking part will follow ancient Bedouin paths and marvel at the stony desert landscape and steep mountain paths.

Petra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The trek takes place in October 2021 and the Hospice will be holding an information day on Tuesday March 31st, at 6.30pm at the Hospice. That event will give those interested all the details of the trek and innovative fundraising ideas.

Often described as the eighth wonder of the ancient world, Petra is without doubt Jordan’s most valuable treasure.

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, it is a vast, unique city, carved into the sheer rock face by the Nabataeans, an industrious Arab people who settled there more than 2000 years ago. This trek, recognised by National Geographic as one of the ‘world’s best bikes’, follows an ancient Bedouin migration route and covers some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes that Jordan has to offer.
