Do your bit by staying at home says Hastings MP

‘Selfish’ that’s how local MP Sally-Ann Hart has described people flouting government advice to stay at home and not to gather in groups.

Ms Hart said today: “Representing an area of the UK that is built on tourism it is hard to utter these words but if you are thinking of visiting Hastings, Rye, Camber or any other local area, please don’t!

Camber on Sunday afternoon.

“This picture was taken at Camber Sands at the weekend. People here are selfishly not following the Government’s advice to say at home, support the NHS and save lives.

“The advice is incredibly clear and if it isn’t followed the Government will have no choice but to bring in further, stronger measures to prevent people undertaking unnecessary journeys and activities.

“I am clear, this is not the time to be visiting our area. This is not the time to be going to the beach or socialising in groups. You need to stay away. By staying at home you will be supporting the hard working staff in our emergency services and by doing so saving thousands of lives.

“Our NHS staff are going to work, what we all need to do is stay at home.”
