Sedlescombe Rangers U18s progressed to the Semi-Finals of the Crowborough & District Youth League’s U18 Knockout Cup following a comprehensive 12-0 win against Yalding & Laddingford in one of their last matches of the year.

The tone was set when the U18s went ahead inside the first minute from their first attack and then found themselves 4-0 up inside the first 20 minutes with top scorer Alvin Scott scoring all four with some really composed finishing.

The team dominated proceedings, playing some outstanding passing football that left the opposition struggling to cope.

Scott added two further goals before half time with Luke Brundle adding one and Owen Palmer also scoring from the penalty spot, to put the team in command going in at the break with an 8-0 lead.  The half time message was not to let complacency set in and continue in the same vein.

The U18s duly obliged continuing to play to their strengths by dominating possession, which saw them continue to carve out numerous chances and eventually scoring a further four goals from, Charlie Webbe, Hugh Lane, Evan Crang and a penalty from Ryan Spiers.

The team went in to its Christmas break, not only through to the Cup semi-finals but also top of the Under 18 “B” Division and unbeaten, with the league programme resuming next weekend on January 12th .
