A total of 440 ‘creepy’ visitors raised an amazing £1,400 for St Michaels Hospice when they took part in a Pumpkin Trail around the Hospice grounds last week.

It’s always a popular event in the Hospice’s annual fundraising calendar and this year the  visitors enjoying the trail around the Hospice garden, craft activities, wicked competitions and scary treats that were available to gobble up!

Community Fundraiser Laura Sully said afterwards: “What a fantastic event. With more people visiting than ever, the Hospice garden was full of families enjoying a hauntingly fun day out. With huge thanks to Lisa Besemer of Rainbow faces for her fantastic face painting, to staff and our wonderful volunteers and cake bakers who make putting this event on possible.

“The event would not happen without the incredible Pauline Crouch – who hand makes items for visitors to buy, comes up with all the craft activities, provides all the equipment needed, and arranges everything for the wonderful creepy trail through the woods.”

Tesco donated ‘creepy’ buckets and a whole host of wicked toys and goodies that were sold on the day.
