Through the lens of Sid Saunders

Local photographer Sid Saunders took himself for a walk with his camera yesterday morning and caught some wonderful photographs, with Sid’s permission we publish a selection of them here.

Sid says: “I had a early walk in the Old Roar Gill and Coronation Wood ending up in Alexandra Park with a cold wind blowing around my ears.

“The icicles all through Old Roar Gill were very impressive but I did feel sorry for the heron who kept walking around the frozen lake looking for somewhere to fish.

“Although I had lots of layers of clothing and a woolly hat on I was feeling the cold but it was still a enjoyable walk.”

An impressive display.
Cutting their own iceholes!!
