The fabulous venue has hosted some of the UK's best productions.
Despite being threatened with demolition after the Second World War, the theatre was lovingly restored and reopened on June 16 1959 by Sir Ralph Richardson.
Set in the historic Old Town of Hastings, the Stables is a 126 seat theatre run entirely by volunteers. The theatre is both a production house and touring venue for small professional productions. We support the Hastings Theatre festival, Hastings Fringe Festival, Hastings Storytelling Festival as well as providing a venue for a number of local professional companies, dance and drama groups. Our Art Gallery is open throughout the year. Volunteering opportunities available.
